Location: Richmond, Virginia
The Accounts Payable & Receivable Manager will be responsible for all activities related to receiving and making payments for Applied Frameworks, a management consulting firm with a worldwide presence. The ideal candidate will be familiar with all basic accounting procedures and be able to provide end-to-end support of the company’s financial transactions on a daily basis, ensuring accurate and efficient flow of payables and receivables.
Essential functions:
- Serve as subject matter expert for accounts payable, purchasing, accounts receivable functions, accounting system modules, and policies
- Reviews and maintains high quality invoicing, including, appropriate documentation
- Manages timely collection of receivables and negotiates with clients in non-payment cases
- Ensures all negotiated vendor payments are paid in accordance with the contract
- Daily management the payable and receivable functions, including vendor management systems, employee reimbursements
- In conjunction with COO, develop and ensure compliance with accounting policies
- Prepare, maintain, balance and analyze financial data related to payables and receivables
- Receive, research and resolve a variety of internal and external inquiries concerning account status including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to the appropriate parties.
- Review and approve journal entries for accuracy to ensure the integrity of the general ledger
- Review the monthly AR aging reports and generates monthly customer statements
- Assist with monthly status reports and month-end closing
Qualified candidates will have:
- 5+ years of experience in similar positions
- Knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of accrual accounting methods
- Experience with accounting, vendor management software applications (QuickBooks Online, Harvest, Ariba, Coupa, etc.)
- Skilled in performing accounting procedures; preparing and maintaining accurate records; compiling & preparing financial reports
- Skilled in creating and maintaining complex Excel spreadsheets
- Skilled in professional communication including verbal, written and telephone
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions
- Ability to define accounting problems and recommend solutions
- Ability to organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines
- Ability to compile and present financial reports
